Johnson & Johnson Inc. support for Healthcare professionals

"We believe our first responsibility is to the doctors, nurses and patients, to mothers and fathers and all others who use our products and services. In meeting their needs everything we do must be of high quality."Our Credo

At Johnson & Johnson Inc., Our Credo provides the basis for everything we do. We believe that in order to support healthcare professionals, our products and services must strengthen trust between healthcare professionals and their patients.

With that main focus, we are proud to support healthcare professionals through a number of innovative programs and policies.

Health Care Compliance

Johnson & Johnson Inc. has developed a robust Health Care Compliance (HCC) program so that we can ensure our interactions with healthcare professionals and government officials are guided by:

  • the values and principals outlined in Our Credo;
  • Canadian laws and regulations;
  • industry codes; and
  • our own policies and procedures.

The Johnson & Johnson Inc. Health Care Compliance program also outlines specific guidance related to activities such as educational support, research grants, charitable contributions, consulting agreements and various other interactions with healthcare professionals and government officials.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT)

Johnson & Johnson Inc. is committed to helping healthcare professionals in the fight against smoking — the number one cause of preventable death in Canada. The Canadian Tobacco Use Monitoring Survey (CTUMS) 2006 reports that more than 4.9 million adult Canadians (18.6%) are current smokers. To help these Canadians and the health of our nation as a whole, we are active in supporting a variety of healthcare professionals, including general practice/family medicine (GP/FM) professionals, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, respirologists, cardiologists and dental professionals, with smoking cessation resources.

At Johnson & Johnson Inc., we Bring Science to the Art of Healthy Living through our multi-faceted national smoking cessation initiatives so that healthcare professionals, and their patients, can benefit from our support.

We support a variety of national conferences; provide educational grants; and partner with key opinion leaders (KOLs) in tobacco addiction to develop accredited continuing medical education (CME) programs. At the same time, we work closely with multidisciplinary advisory boards to identify the key steps family physicians and other primary care providers can take in order to offer effective smoking cessation interventions.

To further help these healthcare professionals support their patients, we provide clinically based support and educational tools and professional samples in order to enhance their conversations about smoking cessation.

Pediatric Care (TYLENOL® and MOTRIN®)

At Johnson & Johnson Inc. we are proud to support pediatricians, general practice/family medicine (GP/FM) professionals and nurses who are dedicated to the primary care of newborns and children right up until their teens.

For healthcare professionals to use in their daily practice, we provide educational tools and professional samples including fever and pain management and analgesic dosing instructions in a variety of languages in order to optimize patient care and recovery. We also support campaigns designed to build awareness of fever, vaccinations and pain.

To further support these healthcare professionals, we are proud sponsors and active participants in the Canadian Pediatric Society conference and the College of Family Physicians of Canada conference.
