Our Values
"The day has passed when business was a private matter — if it ever really was… Every time business hires, builds, sells or buys it is acting for the…people as well as for itself, and must be prepared to accept full responsibility for its acts..."
— Robert Wood Johnson II, 1947
We believe that core values are necessary in order to thrive in an ever-changing world — including right here in Canada. In the same way that you guide your life, we guide our company with values that have proven themselves over time.
The values that guide our behaviour are spelled out in Our Credo, which puts the needs and well-being of the people we serve first.
Robert Wood Johnson II — a member of our company’s founding family — crafted Our Credo in 1943 before Johnson & Johnson became a publicly traded company. Back then the term “corporate social responsibility” wasn’t part of our language but he recognized that the concept was a necessary component of our corporate values.
Our Credo is more than just a moral compass. We believe it is a recipe for business success. The fact that we are one of only a handful of companies one of only a handful of companies that have flourished through more than a century of change is proof of that.
We invite you to read Our Credo and you’ll soon see that our values are part of the reason why people just like you trust us.
